Responsibilities

As a support agency, we are responsible for:

  • Assessing families’ needs to determine their requirements for child care and other support services
  • Connecting families to a service provider in their area that meets their needs
  • Advocating for families
  • Working with families to develop a family management plan
  • Reviewing family management plans every 3 months and where appropriate, transitioning families to other approved types of child care types and/or support services
  • Establish networks with family support services including referral pathways
  • Monitoring in home care service provision to ensure a focus on quality early childhood education and care
  • Providing professional development and support for educators
  • Make recommendations to the department on the allocation of in home care places
