Responsibilities
As a support agency, we are responsible for:
- Assessing families’ needs to determine their requirements for child care and other support services
- Connecting families to a service provider in their area that meets their needs
- Advocating for families
- Working with families to develop a family management plan
- Reviewing family management plans every 3 months and where appropriate, transitioning families to other approved types of child care types and/or support services
- Establish networks with family support services including referral pathways
- Monitoring in home care service provision to ensure a focus on quality early childhood education and care
- Providing professional development and support for educators
- Make recommendations to the department on the allocation of in home care places
